Robinson, played the complete 2014 season from behind the plate for Torbay barons and achived his highpoint when he captained the Bluejackets as they secured their first wins of the season in last years Macron Futures Cup.
Acting manager for the Newton Baseball Prodject, Neale Raleigh, said, "I'm delighted that Paul has chosen our club to re-launch his Baseball career", "we are glad to have him on board, we will refine and polish his catching skills during our training sessions and he will become another valued addition to our line up".
Raleigh also added, "whilst managing the Exeter Spitfires at the begining of last season, I travelled to watch the Barons play a home game prior to their visit to Exeter the following week, at the time we had employed an aggressive attacking game whereby, for the first 3 innings or so, every time we had a runner on first, our next batter would take the pitch and our runner would steel, at times in games we would achieve a 95% sucsess rate, I had no reason not to employ this tactic in our upcoming game against Torbay,....untill that is, I witnessed Robbo throwing to second, lets just say, that for the following week i had to replan our strategy".
